Isaiah 40:18-24
18To whom then will you liken God,
or what likeness compare with him?
19An idol! A craftsman casts it,
and a goldsmith overlays it with gold
and casts for it silver chains.
20He who is too impoverished for an offering
chooses wood that will not rot;
he seeks out a skillful craftsman
to set up an idol that will not move.
21Do you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
23who brings princes to nothing,
and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.
24Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown,
scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth,
when he blows on them, and they wither,
and the tempest carries them off like stubble.

Samaritan’s Purse and those doing similar work
Persecuted Christians: Nigeria, India, N Korea, Iran, Yemen, Libya, Sudan
(Sudan has been in civil war now for three years this month)
Gaza's "Board of Peace" (rebuild)
Ukraine / Russia conflict & peace talks
Venezuelan government; Cuba
Iran conflict (Strait of Hormuz blockade) and our troops in danger; the war continues!
The US:
Immigration/border/human trafficking; debt; drugs; gender confusion/homosexual/living together; CRT/Wokeness; ai dangers; censorship; military/police/fire/border patrol (ICE)/cyber security/Nat'l Guard in US cities; foreign relations; abortion/ivf; sinking drug ships; Greenland
US Gov’t – SCOTUS, POTUS, COTUS – John Thune, Mike Johnson, Donald Trump
Teens: cutting, drugs, suicide, addictions, TikTok, Instagram, mental health
Supreme Court cases: First Choice Pregnancy Center / women's sports case
Funding for Homeland Security (TSA); Tariff paybacks

DEATHS: Roger S 3/26/26 (Shirley and family in mourning). Gerald B died 3/11; Tom H's dad (4/10/16); Al D's mom (4/12/14); Barb D's dad (4/16/21)
HEALTH:
Barney - pacemaker surgery on 4/28; grandson Tanner injured by horse falling on him (he's now at a hospital in Casper, WY)
Linda W - Cancer is stage 4; bronchoscopy on Monday
Deta K - Quite improved!
Kathy A - still much facial pain; awaiting a CT scan result for some answers
Gene P - still weak after surgery
Mike N needing doctor wisdom for back (pain and balance) - nerve test scheduled for April 27 now
Lacy S - friend Maddie at Madonna; needs the brain connections to work
Tami N - immune system improvements & heart weakness
Mary T - recovering from back surgery in June '25 (doctors said 12-month recovery); bursitis is troubling
Those struggling with memory issues
Cancers: Ron M, Joyce N, Joe R, Kathie P, Tami N
Compromised - Mike S, Millers, Phil B, Joe & Elaine R, Janet B, Lowell & Betty W (Betty turns 90 this week!)

James 5:16, Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. NIV- The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
