Youth

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden..."

Matthew 5:14-16

It has been said that the church is always one generation away from extinction.  Thankfully, Jesus will build His church and the gates of hell will never prevail against it.  Our youth represent that next generation and, like a city set on a hill, our desire is that they grow to let their light shine before others so that this dark world may see their good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven.

Sunday Mornings

Middle School

High School

8:45am-9:45am

8:45am-9:45am

In Middle School (Grades 6-8) Sunday school, our boys and girls are split into separate classrooms each covering doctrines of the Bible, cultural issues that teenagers face, and the components of God’s will in their lives.
In High School (Grades 9-12) Sunday school, students formulate biblical positions on ethical issues, develop a solid set of beliefs using Bible proof texts, and review the story of God’s redemption throughout Scripture.

Worship Service

10am-11:15am

Our youth participate in the entire worship service.  Typically, once each quarter, the youth help lead music and take turns serving as greeters and ushers.

LIGHThouse

Wednesday Evenings at 7pm

Wednesday evening ministries, called OA:sis, begins with a shared meal (for a donation) at 6pm.  The youth gather at 7pm for a shared time of praise, biblical teaching, and connection.  Middle school groups often break off for game time while high schoolers gather into smaller groups for deeper discussions.

LIFE Group

Sunday Evenings at 6pm

Life Groups are small Groups studying the Bible together and serving one another.  The youth that gather on Sunday evenings share in a time of bible instruction applicable to living their life in this difficult culture.  They spend time in prayer for one another.  Most Sunday evenings, snacks are shared (these are teens after all!) and they often finish the night enjoying a game or two.
