Encouraged to Build: Holiness Can’t Be Borrowed

In this message from Haggai 2, the people become discouraged because the rebuilt temple seems small and unimpressive compared to Solomon’s temple. God responds by reminding them that His presence—not outward size or visible glory—is what truly matters, calling them to stay faithful, keep building, and trust that He is preparing a greater glory still to come in Christ. We are challenged not to despise ordinary obedience, not to idolize the past, and to continue faithfully serving where God has placed us.
