LDRSHIP - David Reilley shared on this acronym of the Army core values, connecting the dots to us as believers. Values such as loyalty (our loyalty to Christ) and selfless service (our service to Christ and His church) are non-negotiables as believers. David ended with a call to us as fathers to commit to living out the values of Christ for our family and church. Where might you need some encouragement this week from God's Word on one of these?:
In the brief message, we reviewed from Ephesians 1 that believers are chosen, redeemed, and sealed in Christ. At the end of the chapter, we read of Paul's prayer that Christians would truly know God, the hope of their calling, the riches of their inheritance, and the immeasurable greatness of God's power toward those who believe. To emphasize that power, Paul piles up multiple Greek words describing God's limitless ability, active working, conquering might, and inherent strength. This is the very power that raised Jesus from the dead. God's power to save us is just as powerful for us today.
Safety Training - A reminder that all who regularly work with children and teens & ushers/VBS/security team helpers, will need to be "certified" or "recertified" for the coming year by July 1st. There is a packet of information available to review and you just need to complete the "test".... Note again: this has changed from previous years where we had a required meeting.
Pastor Tim and Katie will be leaving SSB. As announced yesterday during the worship service (and later by email), Pastor Tim has given us his resignation. We do not anticipate any immediate changes, but in the weeks and months ahead he will be transitioning to the church where the Lord ultimately calls him to serve. His desire is to step into a senior or lead pastor role. Our prayer is that God will clearly direct Tim and Katie, bless them throughout this process, and give grace to our church family during this season of transition. While this is significant news, we serve a God who is sovereign over every detail. He handles both the small things and the big things and "is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever" (Ephesians 3:20–21). We encourage you to visit with Tim and Katie or with any of the SSB elders if you have questions or would like to learn how you can support and encourage them during this transition.

- Sunday night, For the Master ministered to us with their patriotic program. It was a great blessing to all who attended as we worshiped and thanked God in song for this amazing country we have been given to steward. Thank you to the five men and two ladies who blessed us with their amazing talent!
