STANDING STONE BIBLE

WEEKLY

July 20, 2026

Our message yesterday from Ephesians was geography based.  Our lives are shaped by where we live - where we belong. Paul teaches that believers have been raised with Christ and are already seated with Him in the heavenly places, making heaven our present citizenship even while we still live on earth.  Identity comes before our behavior—we don't strive to become God's people; we learn to live as the people He has already made us. Because we are united to Christ, we have new life, a new identity, a secure inheritance, and a living hope that extends beyond this present world to the coming New Heavens and New Earth.   We are also reminded that this heavenly citizenship is shared, calling us to worship, serve, and grow together as one household and one temple built upon Christ, our cornerstone.

Cookout with Business:  We will begin at 6:30 on Friday night.  Bring some meet to cook and a side to share.   The grills will be going!  You can cook your meat if you wish.  Sometime around 7:15 or 7:30 (for probably close to half an hour) we will wrangle you in for a short meeting to give some updates.  Although informal, it will be an official business meeting (members can vote if there is one).   Before and after is time to fellowship, play some games, etc....  The Gretna Days fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:45 and we have a great view... bring a lawn chair or blanket and we will sit in the grass facing east to enjoy.

Pastoral Job -  The job opportunity is on our website here:   https://standingstonebible.church/job-opening
You may forward this link to others; it includes a link at the bottom for potential candidates to apply - they complete a simple form and attach their resume.  You may already know the next guy!
