August 10, 2026
Yesterday morning, we heard of bears and daughters as Matt shared some of his bear attack story. How thrilling to hear of God's rescue and the significance of walking his daughter down the aisle. We also congratulated the Teen Life Truths (TLT) children that worked through ten weeks of lessons that will, Lord willing, greatly impact their teen years for God's glory. Thank you to Matt and Isaiah for leading this year's class!
Rod introduced Bryan Carlson who shared about the Biblical Counseling training that is to be offered at SSB beginning on Saturday, September 12th. This 8-week series of classes will give you the clarity, competence, and confidence to counsel those in the midst of troubles. God's Word is sufficient and God's Spirit is powerful to move in the lives of people if we truly work to disciple others and trust in Him moving. This class will be live on Saturday mornings at Standing Stone Bible Church. You may also attend via Zoom if you are not able to make it to each session. Find a link below to learn more and sign up.
Our message from Ephesians 3:20–21 explained that this is not a standalone promise that God will give us whatever we dream or solve every problem according to our desires; it is the doxology flowing out of Paul's prayer and the first three chapters of Ephesians. Paul has been asking God for spiritual understanding: that believers would know their hope, inheritance, resurrection power, Christ's indwelling presence, and the immeasurable love of Christ. He has also been stretching our thinking throughout Ephesians, showing us that we were chosen, redeemed, sealed, made alive, raised, seated with Christ, reconciled to God's people, and made members of God's household. The "far more abundantly" therefore points to more of God's purposes being accomplished in His people, not simply more comfort, possessions, or easier circumstances. The power that accomplishes this is already at work within believers—the same resurrection power that raised Christ and raised us from spiritual death. Because God is bigger than we can comprehend, we should ask bigger, think bigger, and trust bigger, allowing our enlarged view of God to put our problems in their proper perspective.

We will take this "survey" to sign up as a helper down this week. In addition to the opportunities on this link, I was told that our ESL training could use more helpers. If you are open to that (you do not need to know a second language), let Abby M or Jaime know.
Otherwise, on the link here, signing up doesn't commit you - just lets us know you want to learn more about that opportunity.

Columbia Trip - In January, a few of our folks will be heading to Columbia, South America to share the gospel with a few groups of people in the southern part of the country. This will be an active trip as they travel by boat along the river basin and hike to get to villages. A few of our SSB folks are committed to going. Others may still join. Let Jaime know if you are interested in participating or even financially assisting a few in the journey.
Mostly, please be in prayer for this trip and these people to be open to hearing of salvation in Christ.
