STANDING STONE BIBLE

WEEKLY

August 24, 2026

Sunday morning, we shared about the importance of Wednesday nights (thank you to Gary & Ruth for blessing us in this).   Speaking of Wednesday nights, we also thanked our youth sponsors as they will continue to lead and guide our youth this coming season (yes- thank you!).  We discussed the upcoming change as Cameron and Hugh will work together to direct the youth program.  It is a big undertaking.   While we are still seeking what God desires for is in regards to a future youth pastor, we do so thankful to God for His faithfulness in the past (thank you to Pastor Tim!) and God's current and ongoing faithfulness!    God continues to be faithful...  Praise Him!

Tony shared about his experience with a swing-loaded sway bar that probably should have taken his life.  After being struck in the face he was (and still is) injured with broken bones in the face.  But he is only injured!   He's alive!  It didn't take his eyes out nor any teeth.   By the grace of God, Tony was spared and able to stand before us praising God.  To God be the glory.

The message from Ephesians 4 spoke of life in the yoke.   In the letter's transition from BEING in Christ to DOING life in Christ,  Paul reminds us that our walk is not independent. Like a yoke joins two together, we are yoked to Christ and to His people. True freedom is not freedom from authority but in belonging to Christ.  Oh, and His yoke is easy the burden is light. As we walk in a manner worthy of our calling, we must surrender self-centeredness, harshness, our own agenda, and our insistence on our rights. In their place, Paul calls us to humility (all humility), gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love. The immeasurable love of Christ becomes the love we continually pour into those with whom Christ has yoked us.  The spoon returned!
Help us in the pastoral search.    Although we are excited in what we have lined up for the fall and our youth - do keep this in mind...   The job opportunity for youth pastor is still on our website here:   https://standingstonebible.church/job-opening
You may forward this link to others; it includes a link at the bottom for potential candidates to apply - they complete a simple form and attach their resume.
Membership  & Baptisms - We occasionally have classes for each of these.  On Sunday, September 13th, we will begin a seven-week membership class during the SS hour.  This is primarily for any who desire to become official SSB members.  It is seven weeks of information and helps to give you information you need.  There is a pre-requisite that you've gone through our information class and have a gospel testimony.

We are also discussing a baptism class in the near future.    Although we may not do this on a Sunday morning.   If you desire to be baptised, let pastor know (email here) or talk to any of the elders.

Columbia Missions Exposure Trip - In January, a few of our folks will be heading to Columbia, South America to share the gospel with a few groups of people in the southern part of the country.  This will be an active trip as they travel by boat along the river basin and hike to get to villages.  A few of our SSB folks are committed to going.  Others may still join - what about you?   Let Jaime know soon if you are interested in participating or even financially assisting a few in the journey.

Please be in prayer for this trip and these people to be open to hearing of salvation in Christ.
