For communion, the message from Ephesians on Sunday reminded us of Christ's work.  Paul spends the first three chapters of Ephesians telling us what God has DONE before telling us what we are to DO. Ephesians 4:1 then calls us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling—not to earn salvation, but to live in light of what Christ has already accomplished. We have been called to holiness, adopted as God’s children, redeemed and forgiven through Christ’s blood, and given an inheritance that awaits us. We come to communion to remember both the cost of these blessings and the identity they have given us. We are not spiritual paupers living without the riches God has provided; in Christ, we possess immeasurable grace and resources. The question is whether our walk reflects what we have been given. Because of what Christ has done, we are to walk worthy of who we now are in Him.

We were also reminded of Tom & Donna's loss twelve years ago. Their son's life is a reminder of the struggle that many deal with after having been in combat as well as the high price that has been paid for our freedom in this country.  We remember!  We will not forget.  

Kyle & Jen S shared on Sunday morning as well about their experience with Wednesday nights to encourage all to join in beginning this Wednesday.   Don't miss it.  

Membership Class - This Sunday, September 13th, will be the first of a a seven-week membership class during the SS hour (8:45-9:45 am Sunday mornings).  This is primarily for any who desire to become official SSB members.  A pre-requisite is that you've gone through our information class and have a gospel testimony.    

Baptism Class - We are also having a baptism class on Wednesday nights (should just be 2-3 sessions - and beginning this week).   Please let Pastor Ken or Matt Sutton know if you have an interest in this.  If you desire to be baptized, let us know.

Columbia Missions Exposure Trip - In January, a few of our folks will be heading to Columbia, South America to share the gospel with a few groups of people in the southern part of the country.  We will have a "missions mini" next month with a few folks that have been involved in this area of the world to share on the adventures they have had their.

A few of our SSB folks are committed to going.  Others may still join - what about you?   Let Jaime know soon if you are interested in participating or even financially assisting a few in the journey.
